Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Tuesday that Egypt’s foreign policy in Africa is based on distancing from polarization and conspiracies and boosting relations with African partners.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with the House of Representatives’ Committee of African Affairs to review the country's strategy in Africa.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Committee Mustafa el Gendy and chairmen of the national security and Arab affairs committees.
Egypt established its foreign policy in Africa out of beliefs in good-neighborliness and friendly cooperation, the foreign minister said, adding Cairo spares no efforts to re-build trust with African countries.
He noted that Egypt has a privilege in building relationships with its African neighbors.
The country suffered negative impacts for losing ground before the January 25 revolution, he said, adding the situation is getting better after June 30 revolution.
