EU, OIC hold high-level meeting

The European Union (EU) and the OIC General Secretariat held their second Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) at the OIC Headquarters.
A High-Level EU delegation led by Colin Scicluna, Acting Managing Director for Middle East and North Africa of the European External Action Service, led the EU delegation in the meeting. Ambassador Tarig Bakheet, Director General for Political Affairs, led the OIC delegation.
During the extensive discussions, both sides exchanged views on a wide range of regional and international issues of mutual interest and agreed on strengthening bilateral cooperation through concrete actions. The next round of the EU-OIC enior officials' meeting will be held in Brussels in the first half of 2018.
