
Hurricane Gervart has come to Belarus, the Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Radiation Control and Environmental Monitoring said on Monday.
Weather forecasters warned in advance about the possible consequences of the bad weather. Due to a strong wind on Monday, the orange alert has been issued across the country.
The increase in wind is associated with a cyclone that is shifting through the territory of the country. At the moment, further in many regions of the country, a gusty wind is expected to reach 22 meters per second, in some places up to 24 meters per second.
There may be rain and sleet in some places in Belarus on Monday due to hurricane Gervart. After Oct. 31, the hurricane will start to go to the east - towards Russia, where it will gradually weaken.
Hurricane Gervart has already come through five countries in Europe, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria and Poland.
