A local police station in north Dublin was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon as part of a security alert, Irish police said.
Irish police said in a statement that a man arrived at Finglas police station, carrying a suspicious device which he found near his home.
As a precaution, local police evacuated the building and put a cordon around the station, they said.
The army's explosive ordnance disposal team was requested to the scene and traffic diversions were put in place locally, they added.
