
Kuwait's National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim has left his country heading to Washington to partake in the Global Parliamentary Conference.
Al-Ghanim will deliver a speech at the conference slated for April 17-18, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
He will also meet World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, International Monetary Fund Deputy Managing Director Tao Zhang and several international economic and financial experts on the sidelines of the event.
The Global Parliamentary Conference is the Parliamentary Network's flagship event, co-organized by the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF, the World Bank Group, and the IMF.
It brings together some 200 Parliamentarians from World Bank and IMF member countries, partner parliamentary organizations, in addition to officials from the World Bank and the IMF. Participants have the occasion to hear about the most recent work of these organizations and discuss pressing issues in international development, KUNA reported.
