King Mohammed VI and president Alassane Dramane
Abidjan - Muslimchronicle

Relations between Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire are “unique” with strong historical foundations, particular human and religious ties, and very fruitful economic cooperation, said minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita.

In recent years, King Mohammed VI has given a strong impetus to these relations, especially through the many visits that the Sovereign has made in this brotherly country, Bourita told the press on the occasion of the King’s visit to Côte d’Ivoire, which started on Sunday.

The minister, who also recalled the official visit of Ivorian president Alassane Dramane Ouattara in 2015 to Morocco, noted that these visits helped to strengthen the bilateral relations, give a strong and concrete content to the partnership between the two countries, and to launch projects, which are today a source of pride for Africa and constitute a model of South-South cooperation.

Referring to the current visit of the King, Bourita stressed that it will be an opportunity to monitor progress on the projects launched during the previous royal trips, give an even stronger impetus to these ties and to continue the tradition of consultation between the King and his brother president Ouattara on regional and international issues.

King Mohammed VI arrived Sunday in Abidjan for a working and friendly visit to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, during which the Sovereign will also take part in the 5th African Union-European Union Summit, to be held on November 29-30 in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic capital.
