The Manpower Ministry succeeded through the labor representation office at the Egyptian Embassy in Athens to obtain a final verdict in the lawsuit lodged by Egyptian fisherman Mohamed Ahmed Moussa.

The ruling gave a compensation worth 25,000 euros as a result of a work-related injury.

The initial ruling in the lawsuit lodged by the Egyptian fisherman, who works on board one of the Greek boats and was subjected to an accident which left his knee broken while on duty, said Manpower Minister Gamal Sorour.

The labor representation office obliged the boat's owner to pay immediate compensation, worth 8,000 euros, he said, adding that the court also ordered that the rest of the compensation, worth 16,545 euros, to the Egyptian fisherman.

The minister, meanwhile, affirmed that Egypt will not give up the right of any citizen, adding that the government respects its citizens inside and outside the country.
