"As part of the fight against organized crime, units of the National Gendarmerie arrested three drug traffickers and seized 692.7kg of cannabis resin and a car in the communes of Maghnia and Remchi, in the province of Tlemcen (2nd Military Region), on 7 August 2016," said the statement.
During a joint operation, an army detachment along with units of the national gendarmerie intercepted a drug trafficker aboard a commercial vehicle loaded with 150kg of cannabis resin on the East-West Motorway in the province of Setif, the ministry added.
In addition, an army detachment "arrested a smuggler aboard a truck loaded with over 26 quintals of tobacco," in the province of Biskra, added the statement.
