
Qatari daily newspaper (Al-Watan) underlined the importance of the talks to be conducted on Sunday between HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas.
Al-Watan said that the talks are emanating from a number of considerations, foremost the important role played by the State of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian cause.
The newspaper said that the Qatari-Palestinian summit is gaining its importance also from the permanent keenness of Qatar to heal the Palestinian rift, converge views to end the division between the Palestinian forces for the interest of the brotherly people and strengthen their abilities in dealing with the occupation to achieve a fair and legitimate right to an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Furthermore, the Qatari daily pointed out in its editorial today that the importance of HH the Emir's talks with Palestinian President is that it comes days before the Arab summit to be held in the Jordanian capital Amman, where the Palestinian issue will be definitely one of the most prominent axes of the discussions between Arab leaders and the most important item of the agenda of the summit.
The Palestinian issue, the paper said occupies a central and key position in Qatar's policy which stresses in all events and across all platforms its adherence to the constants of the Palestinian cause, noting Qatar's support for the Palestinian people and its continuous effort in order to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of our Palestinian brothers.
Qatar is sparing no political, moral or material efforts in assisting Palestinian people , Al-Watan said, calling it a religious and Arab duty and one of Qatar's fundamentals at the level of its leadership and people.
