The Arab information ministers council decided on Wednesday to choose Al Quds (east Jerusalem) as "Arab Media Capital".
The decision was taken at the end of the 47th session of the Arab information ministers council held in Cairo.
Al Quds selection comes in recognition of its high status in the heart of the Arab and Islamic worlds.
Also, the Arab media council approved a new plan on Arab media action abroad.
The plan aims to face anti media campaigns and correct the stereotype about Arabs and Muslims promoted by foreign media.
Furthermore, the council adopted a number of recommendations to face the phenomenon of terrorism that threatens the stability and security of the region and world, Bahraini Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaih said in a joint press conference with Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Media Affairs Haifa Abu Ghazaleh.
