
Finance Ministers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States held here on Tuesday their 102nd meeting under the Chairmanship of Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Al Assaf delivered a speech during which he stressed the importance of the meeting which comes in the framework of implementing the GCC Supreme Council's decisions on the Taxes related aspects, Customs Union and the Gulf Common Market.
GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs Abdullah Al Shibli delivered a speech on behalf of the Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani. The Directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses and the leaders of the GCC States are major addition the hard work for pushing forwards the GCC march and achieving further accomplishments for the services of the GCC States and peoples, he said, pointing to that GCC Supreme Council has approved the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on promoting the joint Gulf action.
Al Shibli explained that the meeting will discuss important topics related to the GCC States' joint economic cooperation, expressing hope for constructive decision that contribute to advancing the Gulf joint action including the statute of the economic judiciary, action plan and comprehensive framework for the mechanism of exchanging credit information between the GCC States, the recommendations of the Customs Union's commission and the draft agreements of value added tax (VAT) and the selective tax in the GCC States.
The GCC Secretary General stressed in a speech delivered by Head of the human and environment division of the General Secretariat Dr. Adel Al Zayani, that the GCC Youth enjoy the Leaders' attention and keenness. The GCC Leaders' meetings always produce decisions and directives in favor of the good of the Gulf Youth, he added.
