
Three more Egyptian pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia, raising the death toll among Egyptians who embarked on the holy journey to 15 till Thursday night, the Health Ministry announced on Friday.
A 59-year-old man, Awaad Mohamed Abbas, has died of kidney failure, Assistant Health Minister and head of the Egyptian haj mission Ali Hegazy said, adding that Nadia Ibrahim, an 80-year-old woman from Alexandria, died due to a sharp drop in blood flow.
A heart stroke and low blood flow were the causes of the death of the third case; Fathi Ismail, Hegazy noted.
The head of the haj mission went on to say that coordination with authorities concerned is underway to issue death certificates for the three dead pilgrims.
