The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement Monday, called upon the international community to impose 'realistic’ sanctions against Israel for its continuing settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian Territory, Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.
The Ministry called upon the United Nations Security Council to uphold its responsibility with regard to Israeli settlement activities, which it said undermine the two-state solution and the international peace will.
This came after the Israeli Planning and Construction Committee approved a plan to construct about 4200 housing units in the illegal settlement of Modi’in, west of Ramallah in the West Bank.
