Tunisian Army Foils Smuggling Attempt

Tunisian military units deployed in the buffer zone of Ben Guerdane in Medenine governorate, foiled on Monday a smuggling operation into the country by traffickers aboard ten Libyan vehicles, Tunisian state news agency TAP reported.
One of the vehicles was armed, Colonel Belhassen Oueslati, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense said, adding that the armed vehicle fired at the military before fleeing to the Libyan soil. No casualties were reported.
