
The UAE participated in the Ministerial Conference of the Kuwait-based Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries, OAPEC on Thursday. Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Under-Secretary of the UAE Ministry of Energy led the delegation.
The conference was organised under the chairmanship of Kuwait.
During the meeting, the parties agreed on extending the term of Abbas Naqi as a Secretary-General of the Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries for extra three years as of January 2017. They also endorsed the organisation's annual budget and future work programme in 2017.
The participants reviewed OAPEC's report about the international oil market. They also registered their appreciation of the efforts of OAPEC, the Secretary-General and members of the Executive Bureau
