Yemeni negotiators nearing principles of peaceful solution

UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed said Saturday that the negotiating teams of the three main stakeholders in Yemen are close to agreement on a specific set of principles for a comprehensive peaceful settlement. 
The ongoing talks have made a good progress in several issues, notably the release of detainees, he said in a press release. 
The UN envoy, who held two sessions of talks in the morning and in the evening with the delegations of Ansarullah movement and General People's Congress (GPC), called on all parties to meet their pledges and release a large group of detainees in the coming days, according to Kuwait (KUNA) News Agency. 
"The talks dealt with the key issues of pullout of gunmen from residential areas, laying down of weapons, resumption of the political dialogue, and reactivation of the state institutions," he pointed out. 
The committee on the affairs of prisoners and those who are under house arrest also held a meeting where the delegations of the GPC and Ansarullah presented lists of their detainees and asked the government delegation to produce similar lists on Sunday, he added.
