Erekat urges ending Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories

Secretary of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee Saeb Erekat called on Wednesday for ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, considering it an important step to defeat terrorism and enhance the stability of the Middle East countries.
During a meeting with the Chinese ambassador to Palestine as well as the US and UK consuls in al Quds, Erekat urged the international community to force Israel to stop building settlements in the Palestinian territories.
He also stressed the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
