There were reports of damage to public property by the protesters
Rohtak - Arab Today

There were reports of damage to public property by the protesters, who blocked major entry points, including the Sindhu border, Nangloi-Bahadurgarh Road, Karnal road, Tikari, Jharoda and Madhuban Chowk in southwest and outer Delhi. Jat leaders from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi were part of the meeting besides Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Haryana Minister Abhimanyu, BJP MP and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh, former Deputy Chief of Army Lt Gen (Retd) Raj Kandyan.
To be designated an OBC a caste must be found to be "socially and educationally disadvantaged".

The protesters also locked down roads and highways throughout the state. The state is now reeling from violent caste-related demonstrations.

The Jat group protesting is historically made up of Indian farmers. "We will keep going until the government bows to our pressure". Although legally abolished, the government provides lower castes, which are deemed to be socially and economically disadvantaged, with a number of benefits, including college and state job access quotas and welfare programs. Both the Patels and Jats backed Mr Modi when he swept to power in India in 2014 on a platform of promising jobs and economic growth.

The protesters have damaged equipment that brings water from the Munak canal in Haryana state to Delhi, depleting the capital's water supply.

"The gates of Munak canal are still closed and there is no official word either from Haryana or the central government".

He said that the DJB has introduced 14 new filling points for tankers that would become operational late in the night to ensure sufficient water supply on Monday. He said the Delhi government was "repeatedly trying to communicate" with the two governments to find out when will the supply resume, but without much success.

At least 12 were killed in riots across the northern Indian state Haryana over the past one week, with officials and local community leaders appealing for an end to the violence on Sunday.

Haryana BJP leader Anil Jain said the state government had now agreed to the community s demands.

Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called on the city's 16 million residents to begin rationing supplies Sunday after volatile protests in a neighboring state knocked out a key water source.

"It has been decided that in the coming assembly session, Jat reservation will be given in Haryana". Delhi gets its bulk of water supply from Haryana. The authorities cracked down on Patel, who was charged with sedition in October.
