Daesh leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi is not in Mosul, Nineveh Governor Nofal al Akoub said on Saturday.
Speaking at a press conference held in Erbil on Saturday, Akoub presumed that Iraqi forces would achieve more victories within two days and that Mosul residents would revolt against Daesh terrorist group.
He also said an operations room has been formed in Bartella town - located east of Mosul - that has recently been liberated from Daesh.
This operations room, Akoub noted, will be responsible for bringing stranded Iraqis back home and providing them with needed health care.
A renovation process will start next week to restore governmental buildings in the liberated regions in Mosul, he indicated.
Meanwhile, spokesman for the Iraqi Joint Operations Command Yahya al Zubaidi said that Iraqi forces are approaching Mosul International Airport in the west of Iraq's second largest city.
