Khaled Haddad and Nabil Bin Abdullah
Rabat – Ahmed Bin Khadijah
Khaled Haddad and Nabil Bin Abdullah Rabat – Ahmed Bin Khadijah Khaled Haddad, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Communist Party, paid a working visit to Morocco, at the invitation of the Moroccan Party for Progress and Socialism, which forms the government majority and falls within the framework of strengthening historical relations combining both parties. A joint statement to Arabstoday by both parties said that during this visit, Khaled Haddad and Nabil Bin Abdullah, Secretary General of the Party of Progress and Socialism which was accompanied by members of Political Bureau of the Party, searched for a range of issues of mutual interest, including developments and events in the Arab region, especially in Syria, their impact on the situation in Lebanon, the Palestinian issue and the security and stability of the Middle East. Bin Abdullah emphasised the general political situation in Morocco, reviewing the overall political reforms and the current constitution, and the role of the party in the current government, which originated from the ballot box. He also highlighted the issues in the context of a political alliance on the basis of a contractual government program, and envisages achievements in all fields of political, economic and social development, so as to offer a democratic option. Among the other attributes he stressed consolidating the principles of citizenship and equality and social justice, and improving governance and fight corruption. Incidentally both sides confirmed a strong desire to cooperate, and strengthen coordination in the field of media, and provide political and financial support for the satellite channel "Al Yasariya", which is broadcasted live from Beirut, in cooperation with the Arab left-party supporters. The channel’s purpose is to emphasise the struggles of Arabs and democratic forces, and recover the political initiative to repel all attempts to contain the Arab revolutions by anti-democratic forces. Both parties also stressed their determination through several meetings with left-parties in the Arab and Mediterranean World. Additionally, the Secretary General of the Lebanese Communist Party invited the Moroccan Party for Progress and Socialism to attend a conference in Beirut on November 22 and 23. This conference is said to give way for the Moroccan Party of Progress and Socialism to participate in the current Moroccan government, and to study and analyze and keep up with them, as a distinct post in the Arab world.
