OIC Condemns suicide attack against Jordanian Border Guards

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) denounced the terrorist attack on Jordanian border guards in Rukban area on the border with Syria, which claimed the lives of many Jordanian soldiers and injured others.

    In a statement on its website, the OIC Secretary General reiterated the OIC's solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in its war against terrorism, which targets the security and stability of the entire region and consequently exacerbates the humanitarian situation there.

    The Secretary General insisted on the need for consolidated regional and international efforts to root out terrorism and violent extremism, which pose a threat to international peace and security, reaffirming the OIC’s principled position against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
