Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Monday that the opening of Osiris exhibition in Paris was a clear indication of the deeply-rooted relations between Egypt and France in various fields.

Shoukry made the remarks to MENA on the sidelines of inauguration of the exhibition dubbed "Osiris, Sunken Mysteries of Egypt."

French President Francois Hollande inaugurated the exhibition. Egyptian Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damati, Tourism Minister Khaled Rami were present, along with a number of French ministers and Egypt's Ambassador in Paris Ihab Badawi.

"The exhibition confirms the French political circles' interest in boosting the ties with Egypt in various cultural, political, economic, security and military fields," he said.

The top diplomat added that the holding of the exhibition in Paris reflected France's appreciation for the Egyptian culture and antiquities as well as the distinguished relations at the political and popular levels.

He noted that he would meet later in the day with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius on enhancing bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

Shoukry will leave Paris on Tuesday for Britain where he will meet with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond and national security adviser Kim Darroch for talks on the political and economic ties and the situation in Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Syria as well as the terrorism file.
