Qatar Total Open: Cibulkova First to Semis with 400th Win
Doha - ArabToday

World No. five Dominika Cibulkova was the first to reach the semi-final of Qatar Total Open, defeating Sam Stosur 7-5 6-4 .
Stosur is no lightweight, the Australian was previously ranked fourth in women's tennis. Cibulkova had lost all their previous encounters in straight sets. The win will be memorable for Slovakia's Cibulkova also because it is the 400th win in her career. Up next for Cibulkova will be the winner of the last quarterfinal of the night: Zhang Shuai or No.2 seed Karolina Pliskova.
The tournament's organizing committee decided to delay all other quarter-final matches to Friday due to the rainy conditions. One of the games, Daria Kasatkina vs Monica Puig, was stopped due to the rain in the third set. Each one had won a set, while Puig was ahead 2-1 in the deciding set. Caroline Wozniacki will also resume her match against Lauren Davis, the former no. 1 was leading 1-0 in the first set.
