Egypt’s Mufti Shawki Allam on Monday rejected referring to the Daesh terrorist group as "the Islamic State group," stressing that terrorist acts should not be attributed to Islam.
"Daesh is not a state, but they are terrorists who displaced people and destroyed," Allam said in an interview with Al Arabiya satellite news channel.
He called on the media to stop using the “Islamic State” term to refer to this group that commits crimes against humanity.
