A member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Talal Abu-Zarifa, said that recent months witnessed a number of political developments whose results cannot be ignored, whether positive or negative, due to their repercussions on the Palestinian situation.

The Palestinian politician stressed that the Palestinian people and factions should realize the lessons from the battle of Jerusalem and to go to unity as soon as possible, saying that the unity of Palestinian people succeeded in overcoming all aspects of political division and disagreement, whether the unity of political and religious forces or unity of purpose and slogans against the Israeli occupation.

Abu Zarifa added, “In light of the current political development, it is necessary to confront the division in order to restore unity to end all internal contradiction in terms of contradiction with the occupation and its procedures.”

In the same context, the Palestinian politician stressed the need for holding the meeting of Palestinian National Council as soon as possible, saying that it is the only way to renew the legitimacy of Palestinian Liberation Organization’s institutions to face the coming challenges facing the Palestinian issue as whole.

He added that that there are many arrangements for the holding of the Palestinian National Council, through consultations involving all factions, saying that the meeting comes in the framework of preparations for the meeting of Palestinian National Council.
