An exhibition showcasing restored Egyptian monuments was opened Thursday at the Egyptian Museum in Downtown Cairo, the minister of antiquities said.
The exhibition - to wrap up on February 29 - displays 198 artifacts selected out of 500 pieces restored in 2014-2015 from eight foreign states, including France, Germany, the US, Britain and Denmark.
The exhibition crowns the efforts exerted by the ministry over years to restore smuggled monuments.
Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh Damaty inaugurated the exhibition along with a number of foreign ambassadors.
This is not the first exhibition of its kind to be held as similar exhibitions took place in 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015.
