Iraqi forces killed scores of Daesh militants in eastern Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province west of Iraq, over the past hours.
A military source said a joint force of police and army killed the militants and destroyed four vehicles loaded with heavy weapons with the help of the air force of international coalition.
The statement added that 21 Daesh elements were killed and vehicles and hideouts were destroyed in the operation.
Iraqi troops last month pushed Daesh fighters out of Ramadi city that the extremists had held for seven months and declared Ramadi liberated.
