
Iraqi warplanes on Monday bombed Daesh strongholds in several districts of Anbar, a statement by the Defense Ministry said.
The airstrikes destroyed several Daesh hotbeds and killed scores of militants, the statemnet added.
In a related context, the Iraqi security forces killed 31 Daesh militants in Baiji city of Salahuddin province, according to a security source.
Also, airstrikes targeted arms depots and workshops for booby trapped cars.
Meanwhile, three Daesh militants were killed and others injured when Iraqi security troops and Popular Mobilization Forces launched a pre-emptive military operation on the border of Anbar, a military source said.
