Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Qabil
Cairo - MENA

Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Qabil on Sunday held an expanded meeting with representatives of ministries of Foreign, International Cooperation, Transport, and Electricity to discuss the stance of projects that will be implemented in cooperation with the Chinese side.

Representatives of ministries of Communication, military production, Investment, Housing and Petroleum took part in the Sunday's meeting as well.

The Chinese projects, which are under negotiations, aim in the first place to improve services in many villages and cities across the north African country, besides creating thousands of job opportunities, Qabil said in a statement.

The minister added that government's commitment to supporting investment projects through improving the business climate has boosted confidence of investors from across the world in the Egyptian market.

Such projects reflects the distinguished political and economic relations between Egypt and China that currently witness development in light of exchanged visits of both countries, the minister stated.

Today's meeting comes in line with preparations for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's anticipated visit to China next September to take part in the G20 summit, where Egypt will be a guest of honor, Qabil noted.

Qabil, meanwhile, pointed out that the meeting reviewed current negotiations with the Chinese sides with regard to technical and financial offers of each project separately.
