Transportation Minister Galal Saeed attended Sunday the signing ceremony of a contract to supervise the implementation of the first phase of Cairo's underground fourth line project.

The signing ceremony was attended by Planning Minister Ashraf el Araby, Investment Minister Khaled Khorshid, Local Development Minister Ahmed Zaki Badr, Giza Governor Kamal el Dali, Cairo Governor Atef Abdel Hamid along with Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Takihiro Kagawa.

The fourth line of Cairo's underground is one of the most important projects in transferring passengers and will contribute to resolving traffic congestion problem in the Greater Cairo, said the minister. 

The first phase of this line will transfer about 700,000 passengers daily and will reduce traffic in el Haram street and the Giza Square, he further said.
