Muscat Bay plans to hire 800 people to run the exclusive resort, its CEO has said.

In an interview with Times TV, Sheikh Hamood Al Hosni, Chief Executive Officer of Muscat Bay said: “We are expecting that 800 new employment opportunities will be generated during the operational stage to operate this resort and residential complex.”

Muscat Bay, formerly known as Saraya Bandar Jissah, is a joint venture between Omran and Saraya Holding Oman. The 2.2 million square metre project, which is being developed in two phases, boasts 435 exclusive residential units in five residential zones alongside two five-star hotels by Jumeira. “Both hotels will be operated by Jumeira international and one of them will be ready by the end of this year. The whole project will be completed by 2021”, he said. “We will start delivering some of the (residential) units by June and the other zones will follow.”

Nestled in a secluded valley of the Al Hajar Mountains, Muscat Bay provides accommodation with premium facilities to a wide range of buyers. “We have one-bedroom, two-bedroom and duplex apartments. We have villas of different sizes- three-bedroom, four-bedroom, five bedroom villas. We have a price range that starts from 85,000 to 2million rials. We have a huge range for all types of interested buyers,” Al Hosni added.

The residents can enjoy amenities such as a landscaped parkland with picnic and entertainment areas and a beach.

According to Sheikh Hamood there is a huge demand for Integrated Tourism Complexes (ITC) in Oman but it is not being met currently by the market. “The demand is still there in the market but the supply is very few. I think in terms of competition there is not much competition. There is harmony between the projects. Any new project that will come into the market will help the other ones to sustain and develop further,” he said.
