Arab national security, including the Arab Gulf’s, is part and parcel of the Egyptian national security as Egypt will not hesitate to offer all forms of support to sisterly Arab countries should any of them come under an attack, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said.
The Egyptian leader made the remark during a meeting with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan on Thursday that was also attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and UAE Ambassador to Egypt and permanent delegate to the Arab League Juma al Junaibi, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah said his country was keen to hold constant consultations with Egypt on the region’s crises and the best means to handle and settle them.
The meeting took up the general situation in the region and the crises in a number of countries as the two sides stressed the importance of reaching political settlements to them to stem the bloodshed of innocent civilians and preserve the regional safety of Arab countries, the spokesman said.
They also addressed dangers besetting Arab national security and the need to deal with them firmly, the spokesman added.
