Pakistan is a peace-loving country, does not believe in aggression under any circumstances and the Pakistani armed forces are fully capable of defending the nation, said Pakistani Ambassador in Riyadh Manzoor-ul-Haq, on the occasion of Pakistan Defense Day.
Speaking to Arab News on Monday, the envoy said: “Pakistan wants peace in the region and in the entire world.” The remark assumes significance as tension between New Delhi and Islamabad hit a boiling point after the recent terror strike on an Indian army base at Uri in Kashmir, killing 18 soldiers. The Indian government accused Pakistan of involvement, but Islamabad has denied it.
Expressing full confidence in the capabilities of the armed forces in defending Pakistan, Haq praised them for carrying out the very successful anti-terror Zarb-e-Azb operation.
