
The Foreign Ministry instructed its Embassy in Larnaca to provide every possible help to facilitate the safe return of the Egyptian passengers released at Larnaca back home.
The EgyptAir Flight MS181 was hijacked by a passenger claiming to be wearing a suicide explosive belt.
The plane hijack crisis has ended safely and the government is following up the developments closely, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said.
The Egyptian passengers will be brought back home from Cyprus as soon as possible, the prime minister told the state TV.
The hijacker is an Egyptian national but has not made specific demands, the premier said.
