The Ministry of Justice, represented by the Legal and Judicial Studies Centre, and British Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) signed a memorandum of understanding on training and legal education, legal skills development, and legal knowledge dissemination in the arbitration field.
The Ministry of Justice's Director of the Legal and Judicial Studies Centre Fatima Abdulaziz Bilal and CIArb Director General Anthony Abrahams signed the MoU in the presence of HE Minister of Justice Dr Hassan bin Lahdan Al Mohanadi.Under the MoU, the two parties will cooperate in all legal, academic and professional fields to train Qataris law officers to work in the field of arbitration. They will also cooperate in the exchange of documents, publications and scientific journals and other means that can contribute to the development of legal knowledge and skills. 
The two sides will cooperate in curricula, training and legal development programs accredited by both parties, taking into account the existence of detailed information on subjects and sub-subjects included in this program and the allotted hours.The two parties will also work together to organize symposia, seminars and workshops about topics that are of common interest to both parties. 
On this occasion, Director of the Legal and Judicial Studies Centre Fatima Abdulaziz Bilal highlighted the importance of the MoU as the nucleus for joint cooperation between the two sides in the field of legal and judicial training, hailing the cooperation between them in preparing and training arbitrators in Qatar to keep abreast with the latest developments in arbitration systems in the world and improve and enhance Qatari law officers' capabilities and skills.
CIArb Director General Anthony Abrahams stressed on the importance of the memorandum of understanding in improving arbitration in Qatar and the region, and its role in finding means to provide training necessary for arbitrators and other sectors of the State interested in arbitration, noting that the goal of the MoU was to disseminate and consolidate the culture of arbitration in the State of Qatar and the region.
