In a video widely shared online this week, a Muslim man is seen handcuffed and searched by police in London due to ‘wearing too many layers of clothes’ in the hot weather.
The video posted by the Documenting Oppression Against Muslims Facebook page showed the man being stopped and searched for around five minutes in public view before being released.
This comes as Islamophobic hate crimes jumped fivefold in the wake of the London Bridge terror attack earlier this year, new figures from the Metropolitan Police released in June show.
