Participants in a workshop on promoting bioethics education that is organized by the UNESCO and Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), observed a minute of silence for First Arab Nobel science winner Ahmed Zewail, who passed on Tuesday in US at the age of 70.
During the workshop, ASRT President Mahmoud Sakr and UNESCO Regional Director Ghaith Fariz announced the launch of a national initiative to promote bioethics education and holding a series of training courses in this regard in Egypt.
In order to promote bioethics education in the Arab region, UNESCO is establishing a network of teachers and institutions teaching bioethics courses in the region.
