President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday expressed Egypt's keenness on strengthening cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Sisi made the remarks in a meeting with UNDP Undersecretary General and Administrator Helen Clark.
The meeting was attended by Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
During the meeting, Sisi praised the UNDP contribution to the development in Egypt over the past decades, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
The Egyptian leader briefed the UN official on the government's efforts to promote the advancement of various economic and social platforms.
He also referred to Egypt's 2030 sustainable development plan, the spokesman noted.
Clark, for her part, praised the efforts made by Egypt on the road to comprehensive development, Youssef said.
She expressed keenness on continued cooperation between Egypt and the UNDP in order to achieve the desired development objectives.
The UN official also praised the steps taken by Egypt to empower women and youths, the presidential spokesman underscored.
