Dubai Customs is gearing up to launch its 22nd edition of Carpet and Art Oasis Exhibition under the theme "A Fabric of Innovation", at Dubai World Trade Center, DWTC, from December 29th to January 15th.

Abdul Rahman Issa, Chairman of the Carpet Oasis’ Organising Committee said that the exhibition will be 20 percent bigger than the previous edition. "The total space is now 8,000 sq. m., as we have moved to a better location," he explained.

There will be 90 stands for 45 companies, with 100 percent occupancy. The event will feature about 200,000 silk and wool carpet items, 80 percent of which are hand-made.

In the last edition of the exhibition, sales reached AED 44million, and the number of visitors was 10,000. This year, the number is expected to grow with strong participation from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, India and China.
