Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Monday that the success achieved by the Egyptian diplomacy during the last year and a half was a result of the people's unity amid world challenges and threats posed by the Arab Spring.
Shoukry made the remarks during a meeting of Canada-Egypt Business Council, which was attended by CEBC chairman Moataz Raslan, a raft of Egyptian and foreign diplomats and a number of businessmen and directors of world companies.
"Egypt has faced challenges to restore its leading role and to create development in parallel with protecting its national security and maintaining its diverse relations," the top diplomat said.
"Egypt's foreign relations have their peculiarity and foundations to contribute to the stability of the world regime," he added.
However, he stressed that the foreign relations should be balanced and based on the rejection of any foreign intervention.
"The challenges are numerous and cannot be overcome without a clear vision," he said.
The minister noted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stated that Egypt's foreign policy is based on principles, values, belief and civilization.
He expressed his trust in the abilities of the Egyptian people, a reason for optimism.
