A bomb planted inside al Jamae al Kabir Mosque in Rif Damascus went off Friday killing the imam, Suliman al Efendio.
The blast also left five worshipers wounded.
Terrorists had placed the bomb at the podium and detonated it as the imam was delivering the weekly sermon, according to SANA News Agency.
