Job postings in Oman fell for the first time in six months in October, according to data from the Monster Employment Index.
In October 2016, job postings in Oman fell by five per cent compared with October last year, the report said. The number of jobs posted this October was 111, six fewer than in October 2015.
According to the report, Oman led the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) job market in August with 4 per cent year-on-year growth in job postings. The growth trajectory in jobs in Oman has continued this year since May until October.
However, Oman still ranks second in the GCC job market. Bahrain is the leader, registering only a 2 per cent drop in job advertisements in October, while Saudi Arabia is third with a decline of 12 per cent.
