One of the finest qualities that Muslims can show is to treat others with kindness and graciousness, worshippers will hear on Friday.
As the Quran said: "And do not forget graciousness between you. Indeed Allah, of whatever you do, is seeing."
The sermon will tell how Allah blessed humanity by sending the Prophet Mohammed.
The Prophet "further instilled in our hearts the values of mercy and love towards each other", the sermon will say. "Thus, we should show gratitude towards Allah and His Messenger, peace be upon him."
One way to be grateful is to acknowledge the blessings of one’s homeland.
"Under its sky we find shade and on its land we cherish the blessings of stability and peace. In return for such magnificent blessings, we show our gratitude to our beloved nation," the sermon says.
This can be achieved by dedicating oneself to the advancement of the nation in one’s chosen profession or field.
One should also show respect for one’s family and the community at large.
"We should learn from the Prophet, peace be upon him, to remember others’ good deeds, thank them for their favours and pay them back with better ones. This is conducive to promote love and compassion among all members of the community," the sermon says.
