
H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain and Chairman of the Executive Council, has approved the decision of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, to form a Board of Trustees for the Umm Al Quwain Award for Innovation.
Sheikh Rashid stressed that the Umm Al Quwain Award for Innovation was a testament to the emirate's determination to foster a culture of creativity, innovation and capacity development, which was in line with the National Agenda and Vision 2021, by encouraging innovation, research and development. This would enhance the ability of the country to perform to its highest capacity to achieve the highest scores in the indicators of innovation and development, he noted.
The Umm Al Quwain Crown Prince pointed out that the award for innovation would have a major role to play during the upcoming phase for achieving better performance rates in different governmental and non-governmental sectors. This will positively reflect the level of services that are provided to the citizens and the members of the society. "We will persevere until the UAE is in the ranks of the most innovative governments in the world," he added.
Sheikh Rashid emphasised that the direction given by the wise leadership had helped establish the concepts of innovation, shaped the value added to the national economy, and established a solid culture across sectors.
