The President of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), Judge Ivana Hrdlickovل, submitted the Tribunal's eighth Annual Report to the UN Secretary-General and the Government of Lebanon. The report is now available on the STL’s website.
"Over the reporting period, the STL remained primarily focused on completing judicial proceedings in the Ayyash et al. case and promoting the effective functioning and the good administration of justice," stated President Hrdlickovل. "This resulted in the Trial Chamber and parties committing themselves to a schedule that should see the completion of the Prosecution’s case-in-chief in the coming months. The upcoming phase of the proceedings will also present the opportunity for both the Legal Representatives of Victims and the Defence teams to present their case in the courtroom."
The Annual Report describes the activities of the Tribunal from 1 March 2016 to 28 February 2017 and its objectives for the coming year. It also highlights the judicial and non-judicial developments in the STL's Chambers, Office of the Prosecutor, Defence Office and Registry.
