H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, has said that terming the year 2018 as the 'Year of Zayed' highlights the exceptional leadership qualities of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The wise leader set an example of dedication and love for his country while working on the development of the UAE with all his capabilities, investing in human resources by arming the youth with science and knowledge, and providing the appropriate environment for this purpose, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed added.
"Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was an exceptional leader, who instilled the qualities of love and dedication for the country among its citizens, and worked for its development so that the nation's flag would remain aloft with honour and pride. He inculcated the values of solidarity, tolerance, and brotherhood among them, so they would grow up as a conscious and civilised generation, aware of their country’s strengths and the importance of preserving them. President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brothers Their Highnesses the Rulers of the UAE, through their vision for the UAE, have followed the path set by Sheikh Zayed," Sheikh Sultan continued.
The Sharjah Crown Prince emphasised that the Year of Zayed was an opportunity to express pride in the UAE's accomplishments.
He stressed that the UAE's development journey would continue as per the vision of Sheikh Zayed, and will depend on the investment in the nation's people, who are the real wealth of countries. "We will see many accomplishments, and the achievement of several goals, which will strengthen the country’s stature and establish its global position," Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed concluded.
