9 IS fighters killed in Afghan eastern Nangarhar

Up to nine Islamic State (IS) militants were killed and five others injured after government forces stormed the militants' positions in Haska Mina district of the eastern Nangarhar province over the past 24 hours, provincial governor's spokesman Attaullah Khogiani said Sunday.
According to the official, the government forces targeted the militants' positions from ground and air in Haska Mina and adjoining areas, killing nine militants on the spot and wounding five others.
Good quantity of arms and ammunition were also destroyed in the raids, the official asserted.
IS militants are yet to make comments.
