Bin Duaij fountain, which was established by charitable figure Abdulaziz Mohammad Al-Duaij in 1876, is considered the oldest and most iconic drinking fountain in the State of Kuwait.
The Ministry of Awqaf (Endowment) and Islamic Affairs was the body responsible for maintaining the fountain since 1966; however, this duty was transferred to the Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation.
