South Africa's first online auction of rhino horn started on Wednesday, the auctioneer company confirmed, as conservation groups said the legal, domestic sale would encourage poachers.
"It has started and the sellers will only be available for comment after the (three-day) auction," a representative of Pretoria-based Van's Auctioneers who declined to be named, told AFP.
