Beijing - Xinhua
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Monday that strong rains will sweep China\'s southwestern and southern areas over the next three days. Heavy rains are expected to pound the eastern and southern parts of Sichuan Province, Chongqing Municipality, the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, central-middle parts of Hubei Province, regions along the Yangtze and Huaihe rivers and south of the Yangtze River as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regions, the NMC said on its website. While high temperatures will start to ease in the south, the southern parts of Chongqing and eastern areas of Guizhou, regions south of the Yangtze River and most areas in south China will see temperatures of between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius Monday, the NMC said. Shenzhen, the host city of the ongoing 2011 World University Games, will see clear and cloudy weather with brief intervals of showers or thunder showers in the next 24 hours. Temperatures will stay between 27 to 34 degrees Celsius, the NMC noted
